Dog Tag Bakery is more than just a bakery, and it's more than just a small business: it's a place where disabled military veterans get a second chance. Named for the identifiers that soldiers wear around their necks, Dog Tag Bakery runs a five-month fellowship program in which veterans attend classes at Georgetown University and rotate through business roles in the bakery, coming out with a Certificate in Business Administration when they're finished.
When you come to grab breakfast, lunch, or a treat here, you can feel good about where your money is going. Dip the Trail Mix scone into your cup of coffee, or grab a caramel citrus roll on your way to work. On your lunch break, come to Dog Tag Bakery to enjoy a buffalo chicken sandwich on challah bread or a seasonal veggie frittata with a side of salad. While you're there, pick up a French baguette or a loaf of honey wheat bread to take home for supper.
