Earth Treks in Crystal City is a 45,000-square-foot climbing facility with 35-foot climbing walls, 400 climbing and bouldering routes, fitness center, and private climbing teaching areas. The center also has high-end locker rooms and a fully stocked gear shop. The best bet for beginners is to try out their Open Climb on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., which costs about $30 for three climbs and a helpful belay instructor. You can also take any of their courses for hands-on training, such as Introduction to Climbing, Introduction to Bouldering, and Introduction to Sport Lead Climbing.

Earth Treks offers 7-visit passes and monthly memberships for both individuals and families. Discounts are also available for active duty military with an ID. For those without climbing equipment, you can rent climbing shoes, harnesses, belay devices, and chalk bags for a small fee. Street parking and garage parking are both available.
