SER, the Spanish taverna on North Glebe in Ballston, has a clearly defined focus. The name of the restaurant stands for “simple, easy, real,” and those values are reflected in everything from the decor, to the staff’s service, to the kitchen’s menus for brunch, lunch, and dinner.
Choose from a variety of small plates for a tapas experience (the crispy mini squid, jamon table, and papas bravas are popular choices), or order any one of the main courses for yourself (Yelp reviewers particularly recommend the braised short ribs). Larger parties should be sure to order a platter of paella for the table to share. Don’t have time for a full sit-down experience? During the day you can stop by the counter for SER’s grab and go sandwiches, snacks, salads and soups. Looking for something special? Make a reservation for one of SER’s Txoxtx Ritual dinners and enjoy a four-course meal based on the Basque cider house tradition.
