It's important to have a reliable, go-to neighborhood coffee shop, and plenty of Arlington locals say that Detour Coffee is just such a place. The coffee's good and the highly trained baristas know their business, but regulars also appreciate this place's eclectic atmosphere. High ceilings with exposed ductwork give the shop an industrial-chic vibe, while rustic wooden tables and a chalkboard menu provide a bit of down-home charm. You'll also find a few other quirky details throughout the space– like the child-sized bicycle hanging suspended above the pastry case, or the brightly painted barn doors that are hoisted aloft in the corner of the dining room.
Menu highlights include the beluga lentil burger (topped with fresh mozzarella, greens, and dijonaise) and the beef empanadas, which are easy to grab and go. Don't forget a steaming cup of tea or coffee, and you're all set.
