There’s no shortage of fast casual eateries in Ballston, but the newly-opened Mi & Yu Noodle Bar aims to deliver something different to its customers. The Asian fusion menu draws influence from all over the continent, including Japanese, Thai, Korean, Filipino, Chinese, and Vietnamese cuisine, and mixes in elements of American food for good measure.
The kitchen’s signature dish is its noodle bowl, which you can get made with ramen, udon, or gluten-free pho noodles. The delicate broth is packed with cabbage, Korean slaw, a boiled egg, and your choice of meat or tofu to finish it all off. You’ll also find a selection of tasty bao buns, with fillings ranging from the traditional miso beef to American-style buttermilk fried chicken. Keep in mind that despite the fact that this place just opened, regulars report that the lunch-hour lines are already pretty crowded. You can avoid the wait by calling in your take-out order ahead of time.
