Pumpkin spice is fine and all, but there is no question that the traditional king of fall seasonal beverages is apple cider. If a bit of cider sounds good to you, then make sure to clear out your calendar on October 17 for the annual Rosslyn Cider Fest held in Gateway Park. The entire evening (from 4 to 8 pm) will be dedicated to learning about, celebrating, and, of course, tasting this tasty beverage. Along with booths from regional and local cideries showcasing a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, there will be food vendors, artisans, live entertainment, and more.
At the Central Place Plaza you can purchase a sampler package to taste brews from 8 different cider makers for just $10. At 6 pm, a prize basket of locally-produced goodies will be awarded to the winner of an apple pie eating contest. Tickets begin at $15 and will sell out fast, so be sure to order your online.
