Visiting the Arlington Farmers’ Market is not only a good way to stock your kitchen with fresh fruits and veggies, it’s also a feast for the senses. You’ll see bright peppers and tomatoes stacked high on the tables, you’ll smell the fragrance of fresh herbs wafting through the air (think basil, oregano, and thyme), and your mouth will water in anticipation of tasting the sweet juice of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Sound good? Then consider doing your weekly grocery shopping at this seasonal, open-air market.
Farmers set up their stalls for business every Saturday morning, starting at 8 am, in the courthouse parking lot at the corner of North Courthouse Road and 14th Street. In addition to farm-fresh produce, you’ll also find a range of baked goods, butchered meats, specialty groceries (imported olive oil, artisanal cheese), and a handful of prepared foods vendors (empanadas, kebabs, etc.).
